Delia (LeBarge) Rouseau

Biography:

Auguste's son, Cyril LaBarge immigrated to America in either 1870 or 1885, perhaps with Cyril's sister, Delia.

According to the 1900 and 1920 US censuses, Cyril and his parents are English Canadian. While in the 1910 census Cyril and his parents are French Canadian. The name and family records would indicate that Cyril and his parents are French Canadian.

The reason for this confusion might be because Cyril's wife, Caroline is rumored to be an illegitamate child, fathered by an American Indian in Quebec and therefore they diguisted their background. There is no doubt Caroline's mother is anything but French Belgian and Caroline herself was born in Quebec, yet she states that her mother is English Canadian in the 1900 and 1920 censuses.

The difference could simply come down to who answered the door when the census representative arrived.
